My Approach to Therapy  & Services

Approach & Services

I am adept at treating much of the human condition because my training is existential-humanistic. My approach is holistic, client-centered, and tailored to the specific place you are in your world. I will help you move with purpose and meaning, as well as evoke the innate ability for healing. I do not believe in an ideal client, but there is an ideal relationship that we can establish together. I will ensure that you feel attended to, heard, and seen in the way you wish to be and become. You deserve stellar care! Visit or call for free 15 minute consultation.

As a yoga teacher, I will draw (if you wish) from ancient healing techniques and practices; this includes breath work, mindfulness, meditation and philosophical teachings. As a specialist in primary care behavioral health, I am able to focus your treatment comprehensively, integrating your physical and mental well-being.

I provide focused, dedicated, experienced, and compassionate care. You will feel relief upon your first session having faced life enhancing anxieties that come with living more fully. After some time working together you can expect tremendous growth and healing. I work experientially as an existential depth therapist for individuals, couples, and groups.

About me

About Me

At age sixteen, I discovered a knack for childcare work as summer-camp counselor at my elementary school and went on to teach preschool for six years, caring for infants, toddlers and two-year-old children as well. I reflect on this time as deeply insightful and privileged in part for witnessing the first words and sentences human beings can make. These children are remembered as prophets speaking intuitively and freely on the nature of our universe - sometimes dissonant - always wise.

During breaks and when children were napping, my mind and body focused on reading wisdom texts with a pen in hand and heart earnestly seeking self-understanding, the ultimate concerns of humanity, and how all things and beings interrelate. The work of Khalil Gibran, Vera Stanley Alder, H.P. Blavatsky, Rollo May, Deepak Chopra, Alan Watts, and Joseph Campbell captured my imagination further igniting passion for understanding depths of human relations, ageless wisdom, ancient and contemporary healing practices.

Today, I practice clinical counseling, yoga teaching, and trauma work as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina, National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Yoga Instructor (RYT). I received a master of arts in clinical mental health counseling, and bachelor of arts in philosophy from UNC Charlotte. I competed my first 200 hour yoga instructor certification with Gotta Yoga, my second 200 hour with 12 Sparrows, where also working toward completion of 500 hour certification.

In the role of behavioral health integration coordinator with Atrium Health’s Community Outreach & Integration program, I work on integrating mental health care and medicine. I specialized in behavioral health integration in collaboration with Community Care of NC, and trained in the Primary Care Behavioral Health model from UMASS medical school. I aspire to be a catalyst in transforming healthcare systems into becoming more clinically integrated models of whole person care.

I am in private practice at Examined Life, PLLC, where I offer existential-humanistic psychotherapy integrated with yoga, trauma care, and East-West wisdom.
